Reset ShoreTel Phone

You can factory default older MGCP phones like this;

  • With the handset "ON HOOK," push and release  MUTE button

  • Type the following: 772667#  (You should not hear any touch tones; if you do, please press "MUTE" then 772667#)

  • Then the display will read; Enter Factory Mode? *=No #=Yes (press #)

  • The Phone will reset and display Factory Test KPD Mode

  • Type 25327# ( spells clear# )

  • Then the phone will read; Clearing Phone Data

  • The Phone will reset and display Factory Test KPD Mode

  • Power cycle the phone, and the Screen should be back to normal.

This method was discovered by examining the Windows 11 OOBE source code, which revealed an event listener for a hidden  _localAccountButton .
