ShoreTel Voice Switch burnflash

If your ShoreTel switches are acting weird, sometimes a burnflash can fix a bug.  These commands are for the non-V switches and will restart the switch at the end, so do not do this during production hours.  Network settings will be retained.

  1. On the ShoreTel Director server, open CMD and enter: cd “C:\Program Files\Shoreline Communications\Shoreware Server”

  2. Type (X.X.X.X = IP Address): burnflash -s X.X.X.X

  3. You will see the switch re-download its software, and reboot at the end

If you have a V switch, you must do this a little differently. Instructions Below:

1. Establish SSH (or console) session to the switch
2. Log in as root and password: ShoreTel
3. type: svccli
4. type: burnflash
5. enter
6. allow at least 1 hour to complete.
7. get a new IP address from the DHCP server (or use a console connection)
8. Establish SSH session to the switch
9. Re-enter all necessary IP configuration parameters, including NTP, DNS, SMTP
10. Reboot the V Switch
