Allowing Anonymous Access to a file share on Windows Server 2012


The following configuration must be defined:
  1. Enable the Guest Account
  2. Open up Local Group Policy Manager.
  3. Expand Computer Configuration
  4. Expand Windows Settings
  5. Expand Security Settings
  6. Expand Local Policies
  7. Select Security Options
  8. Change “Network access: Let Everyone permissions to apply to anonymous users” from Disabled to Enabled.
  9. Change “Network access: Restrict anonymous access to Named Pipes and Shares” from Enabled to Disabled.
  10. Enter in the share name for “Network access: Shares that can be accessed anonymously” - \\SERVERNAME\ShareName
Set up the Share with Everybody permissions and you're set
