How to bypass the security warning "Unknown Publisher" with the checkbox "Always Ask Before Opening this File"
My colleague was fed up with the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen notifications when working. He researched and found a way to disable it without reducing security.
To check settings, go to the Security part of the Control Panel and ensure SmartScreen is switched on.
For Windows Pro/Enterprise editions, use Group Policy Editor. Open it by pressing ‘Windows key + R‘ then typing ‘gpedit.msc‘ and Enter. Go to ‘Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > File Explorer‘. Find the policy ‘Configure Windows Defender SmartScreen’ and choose ‘Enabled‘ or ‘Disabled‘.
