SonicWall Firmware Maintenance Release 6.5.4.x for NSA Gen 6 12/2021

 SonicWall SonicOS 6.5.4.9 fixes a number of issues, including potential vulnerabilities, found in previous

releases. For more information, see the Resolved Issues section.

This release supports all the features and contains all the resolved issues found in previous SonicOS 6.5 releases.

Resolved Issue Issue ID

Internal SonicOS memory was not being released under certain conditions when communicating

with an external SonicWall Switch.

GEN6-2971

Under certain conditions, SonicOS internal timers could incorrectly trigger too frequently - and so

unnecessarily consume a large percentage of the processor cycles.

GEN6-2737

A SonicOS exception could occur when generating the TSR under certain corner-case conditions. GEN6-2714

Under certain conditions and configurations, logging tasks within SonicOS that were running at

high-priority, could consume large percentage of processor cycles.

GEN6-2706

WLAN devices were unable to communicate with LAN devices due to an incorrect validation

check within SonicOS for Layer-2 bridged traffic.

GEN6-2703

When the firewall communicates with the cloud on an http connection, the resulting content

length header may be big enough to cause a stack overflow on the device.

GEN6-2688

When the firewall communicates with the cloud on an http connection, the resulting session ID

header may cause a Buffer Overflow on the device first requesting the connection.

GEN6-2687

Internal SonicOS memory was not being released under certain conditions when connecting to

the firewall over SSH.

GEN6-2555

A SonicOS exception could occur when generating the TSR under certain corner-case conditions. GEN6-2519

Configuration updates from NSM could incorrectly trigger additional unnecessary saving of local

settings within SonicOS.
