Moving OpenVBX to new host

Moving OpenVBX to new host server

https://getsatisfaction.com/openvbx/topics/moving_installation_to_new_domain

Moving an OpenVBX install is pretty straight forward, but it is tedious:

- Install the OpenVBX software on your new server but do not run the installer.
- Move two config files over to the new destination:
- /OpenVBX/config/database.php
- /OpenVBX/config/openvbx.php - It is important not to modify this file as you will not be able to log in if you do
- If you customized the .htaccess file on the old server then you should move this file over as well.
- modify the database.php file to reflect the new database credentials.
- Move your audio uploads to the new server
- Move any custom plugins to the new server
- Export the database from the old server and import it in to the database for the new server.
- Make sure that the /audio-uploads and /OpenVBX/config folders are writable by the server.

Now you can log in to OpenVBX and all of your users, flows, and settings should be present. However the numbers in Twilio still point to your old server. We need to get the information in Twilio updated with your new server's address.

- go to the Admin Settings > Twilio Account. You'll see warnings about urls not being right. Click on the "Update" button to have OpenVBX update Twilio with this information.
- go to the Admin Numbers screen. You'll not see any numbers but you will see a "Numbers used on other Domains" section. Expand this section and import the numbers to your new installation.

Just to be safe go to your Twilio Account portal and verify that the urls there are what they should be.

I found this information form the web site.
